Neck Lift

Neck Lift in İstanbul

The most important cause of aging effects in the face area is gravity. Of course, depending on this, genetic factors and weight gain and loss may also be effective. The relaxations that start on the skin begin on the forehead before the neck area. It then continues downward
and causes facial expression disorders.

Because of the looseness that reaches the neck area after a while, applications such as neck lift surgery or aesthetics are applied. In order to get rid of deformities that cause an aged appearance when viewed from the front, neck lift procedures are successfully applied today. In the same way, thread neck lift surgery can be performed for people who do not prefer surgical applications.

How Is A Neck Lift Surgery Performed?

The incision to be made during the surgical neck lift operation starts behind the ear. This incision is then extended to the scalp. In the neck lift procedure, which is also applied during facelift aesthetics, the skin and muscles are separated from each other with the incision made. Then the upward stretching process begins.

Excess skin in the incision area is carefully cut and removed. After the operation, the area is stitched. With the procedure, sagging and wrinkles in the neck area are removed. In addition, the jaw angle is made more prominent. Since the incision is towards the back of the ear, there is no scarring.

Healing Process After Neck Lift Surgery

The recovery period after surgery is usually between 2 and 3 days. After the operation, the patient may experience side effects such as tension, swelling, pain, bruising or numbness in the neck region. In these situations, as expected, the pains are also very mild.

Although the edema in the neck area is evident in the first days, it decreases after the 10th day. However, it may take up to 6 months for the swelling to completely disappear. Of course, this period may be shorter depending on the skin characteristics of the patients. Reducing the swelling in the neck also eliminates the effect of numbness and tension. Patients should not smoke for the 3rd week after neck lift surgery and should stay away from the harmful rays of the sun. Protective creams can be used according to the surgeon's recommendation.

Along with the healing process, patients should use a special bandage until the 5th day after the surgery. During the first night of stay in the hospital, a drain is placed on the neck of the patients. The time to return to normal life is usually 7 to 10 days. However, heavy work and sports activities should be avoided after neck stretching.
